Epic Ditch "36-Hour EP" 45 rpm / Velocity Of Sound Records
side a
1) "More Juice" - Punk anthem, heavy hit. The Kids are alright.
2) "Singular Form" - more punk/pop, sounds like swearing - can't tell? FCC (just to be safe), good vocals, "hooks". HxJx's "pick-to-click"!
3) Unexploded Ordnance - uptempo poppy surfpunk that sounds like a song left off of either the Descendants "Milo Goes to College", or Husker Du's "Zen Arcade". Great guitar solo. "College Rock", but too damned cheerful to be BladeRunnerCore, IMO.
side b
1) "Tried and True" - reminds me of a Sonics riff. Upbeat, straight-ahead New Wave kinda rock. OK. Kinda chugs along, w/ great drumming, actually. Dumb lyrics, but great vocals, which is always "punk", no?? Super Cool ending.
2) Resistance is Victory" - Alright!! Hardcore Punk in 2012!! The Kids are alright here, too...but almost a tad over-produced. WTF - it sounds better than a lot of the crap you'll hear on Corporate Radio. HxJx's "pick-to-click", natch!
RIYL: Husker Du, Minor Threat, Descendants, old Green Day, Uptones, The Roommates/the Start (a late 70s-early 80s Palo Alto band), Thin Lizzy, Sonics
