LL has been more focused on his acting career rather than the music scene and his recent material has been more catered to the crossover audience. Cool J starts it off with: ‘It was meant to be/ Hip hop died, reincarnated through me / Now the promoters gotta double my fee / ‘Cause these pop melodies ain’t fucking with me. Yes Cool J is talking watered down hip hop and how he is taking it back. The track is pretty solid although I think the hook on the track could have been a little stronger.
