retro pop/60's retro via 80's retro.
first off, I'm a big fan of Best Coast. I'm wearing my Best Coast t-shirt as I write this. just by coincidence. 'Crazy For You' is the best album of 2010, best album of this decade (so far), and one of the best albums of all time. this is not that album. but so what: it's still good. like Dum Dum Girls (this sounds like latter day Dum Dum's) it's progressively produced and mainstream, thus losing the lo-fi charm of 'Crazy For You' and the 7inches before that. I don't have a problem with 'produced' or 'mainstream', at least not in the broadest sense. but...the blanding...
