Third album from baseball-loving musicians including Mike Mills and Peter Buck of R.E.M. It’s got an alt-country, rockin’ vibe w/ gtrs, bass, drums, keys. Fantastic stories of characters and teams of MLB. Great stuff. No FCC’s.
*My Favorites*: the whole double-header (18 songs).
1. (1:38) Mid. Rockin’ heavy beat over statistical #’s.
2. (2:56) Mid. Poppy vibe; Lenny Dykstra’s fall from greatness.
3. (3:55) Mid / Fast. Mean vibe; Non-Americans ordeals to get to MLB.
4. (4:08) Mid. Plodding beat; Alex Rodriguez’ travails in and out of baseball.
5. (4:34) Mid. Menacing gtr, anthemic; Dock Ellis head-hunting Reds hitters.
6. (2:18) Mid. Amped indie fare; plea to Hall Of Fame for Dale Murphy nod.
7. (4:28) Mid. Easy going; Yankee who never made it into Monument Park.
8. (4:04) Mid. Alt-country vibe; a fan who loves box scores.
