Pop punk / indie rock. Aliens in the Outfield is an EP and follow up release to 2013’s I’m Rich Beyond your Wildest Dreams. Besides having a ridiculous name, Diarrhea planet has four guitarists, three singers, and one pulverizing drummer with only six total members. As you can imagine, it is guitar driven, with plenty of solos, and tons of energy. Their songs and attitude glorify being trashy and uncouth while taking every measure to separate themselves from high society. They lose tempo in some songs, and most could benefit from a little polishing, but it is an all-around fun EP. With all the FCC’s, it may be better suited to late night. RIYL: Potty Mouth, Male Bonding, The Men, Ovlov, Pissed Jeans. FCC’s on 1, 2, 4.

1. (3:15) Heat Wave. FCC “Shit”. **Fast and propulsive. Great energy. Slows down at middle of song. Then returns with guitar soloing.
2. (3:25) Platinum Girls. FCC “Badass”. **Poppy and lewd. Pretty hilarious. Vocals not in tune with instrumentals, gets better when harmonizing. Again, fast, fun, and propulsive music. Pretty guitar work at 2.5 minutes in until end.
3. (1:53) Bamboo Curtain. ** Funny, lewd and fun. Terrible harmonizing, but adds to crusty pop punk vibe.
4. (3:04) Spooners. FCC “Fucked up”. Cool guitar work then rocks outs. Upbeat and propulsive. Vocals make it sound like terrible stadium rock or Offspring, except lyrics make it anything but.
5. (4:25) Peg Daddy. Slower intro, flat picking of electric guitar, pretty. Power pop sound. Four guitars make it rock a bit harder than generic power pop punk.
