Reviewed 4/4/16

This is Chris Isaak’s first release of new original tunes in 6 years.
He and his excellent band are at the top of their form. Play ‘em all!

1 – (4:17) First Comes The Night* Great mid-tempo march, wow!
2 – (5:18) Please Don’t Call* Dark, mid-tempo song about cheating, terrific.
3 – (3:34) Perfect Lover* Driving mid song of love & loss, excellent.
4 – (2:55) Down In Flames* Funny mid song of mortality & celebrity deaths.
5 – (3:57) Reverie* Throbbing mid-tempo love lament, terrific.
6 – (3:00) Baby What You Want Me To Do Decent mid rocker love lament, bitter.
7 – (3:23) Kiss Me Like A Stranger* Slower, softer love ballad, nice.
8 – (4:33) Dry Your Eyes* Dark, bitter song of betrayal, mid-up tempo, wow!
9 – (2:34) Don’t Break My Heart Decent love lament, in a bossa nova style.
10 – (2:40) Running Down The Road* Rocking up-tempo breakup/road song, terrific.
11 – (2:54) Insects* Up-tempo rocker, love anthem, wow!
12 – (2:37) The Way Things Really Are* Appealing softer country crooner, mid-tempo,
enjoy the Floyd Krameresque piano stylings.
