Album Review
Your Imaginary Friend
Reviewed 2016-07-06
Bizarre robotic voice over weird Casio-like music. The text is taken from famous scenes from the news, movies, TV, comedy like Cheech and Chong. Things are VERBATIM, like the laugh track goes "HA HA HA HA". It's clear that these guys know their shit. In my 16 years at KZSU this may be the most bizarre twisted stuff I've ever heard. Wesley Willis sounds as normal as the Beatles next to this. Listen to the whole thing and I assure you that you'll never be the same again. It's horrifying and brilliant and incredibly annoying yet replete with educational material (this is "college" radio after all). High powered stuff.

1)* (5:30) earache my eye by Cheech and Chong, verbatim of the classic studio comedy piece
2)* (4:16) 50's skit about young woman introducing her fiancé to family, who's an epileptic
3)* (3:14) holy shit a lesson on sexual reproduction geared for middle schoolers?
4)* (3:32) the crash of the Hindenburg, "oh the humanity"
5) (10:37) a scene from the Brady Bunch? Then ESPN? With baseball player don drysdale
6) (3:28) mixed with a police scanner? I can't place this
7)* (3:15) soundbed is a low fi cover of the Speed Racer theme, voiceover is the text, sheesh
8) (5:42) English grammar lesson
9)* (6:29) title track: lesson in the roman calendar that we use today. Pretty damn informative actually, thanks, I learned something - outtro cites the band
10) (6:23) a thorough explanation of leap year, excellent "college" radio
11) (5:57) magnesium hydroxide chemistry, explanation of milk of magnesia, a great chemistry lesson!
