Album Review
DeVoss
Reviewed 2016-10-30
– General Description: Same basic idea: repetitious and energized arpeggiating bass lines with simplistic motives above and some internal expansion of ideas between these two. Overall a pleasant work. (Composed, performed, recorded, and mixed by Jonathan Fitoussi in Paris 2014-2015 with EMS Synthi AKS, Sequential Circuits Pro-One, and YC45D electric organ.)
The album was inspired by the following quote:
“The stars we are given. The constellations we make. That is to say, stars exist in the cosmos, but constellations are the imaginary lines we draw between them, the readings we give the sky, the stories we tell.” -Rebecca Solnit

– Track Reviews:

1. **(6:52) Aquarius - pleasant waves wash over you as sparkling simple motives play
2. (5:40) Triangulum - simple melody over dynamically increasing arpeggiating bass line
3. **(4:44) Orion - tinkling bells quality, a bit more complex with more interesting interior lines played out
4. **(5:25) Oiseau de Paradis - quieter and dreamy; feels like you’re orbiting
5. (6:00) Andromede - fading in and out; has a pecking-at-a-keyboard quality to it
6. (6:59) Cassiopee - American Indian feel in the melody and execution
