COEO: Disco Volante Label: Razor and Tape

This is a fantastic retro-style disco-infused EP from a couple of German guys who call themselves COEO. I literally felt transported back to the 70s, and I wish I had an Afro. In 4 songs these guys have managed to do Northern Soul, Black-Power jazz-funk, Disco Anthem, and Urban Cool. I loved every track on this EP and I know you would too.

1. "Like It Is" (5:55): Fantastic groovy disco done in a northern soul style. Totally dance-able with funky basslines, big horn blasts, and groovy guitars. The vocals are legit 70's style soul. Love it!

2. "Nigerian Affair" (6:53): Totally retro-style old-school jazz-infused Afro-power-soul R&B groover. This belongs on any funk show, any world-beat show, Afro-jazz show, and any 70's-revival compilation. Sun-Ra would've dug this.

3. "Long Night Ahead" (7:11): Funky up-tempo disco groover. Definitely great for any modern dancefloor from the 70s to the 2000s. It's got great basslines and big build-ups of a modern party anthem, with all the funk & energy of something retro too.

4. "Pajama Story" (6:31): A bit more chilled-out, a nice inner-city feel. You can feel the essence of "urban chic cool" in this track. Sexy, chilled-out disco-funk. Love it.
