Genuine, pretty-much perfect indie rock. So surprised these guys haven’t had that much commercial success! Saw them open for Moon Hooch recently, and they blew us away. They’re a kitschy indie rock group out of Michigan with weird outfits and pretty hooks. The lead singer started making music while playing this old organ he has back home. They’re a septet with a sax, keys, and more, leading to a very full sound. All of this is super radio-ready and great for a pop-rock set.
Genre: Roots rock, pop rock, evoking summer barbeques with family
RIYL: Train, Jeff Buckley, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros
FCCs: Nope
Favorite Tracks: 2, 5, 7, 8
Lonely (3:24) - catchier, pop-rock perfection, big saxophone, so cheesy its beautiful
Catalyst (4:07)* - cloudier, cool piano lead, moody with some Spoon influences
Crimson Line (3:16) - twinklier, no complaints again, pretty instrumental lead, jamming guitar solo close
American Color (4:32) - breezier, swirling synths and guitar, jangly
Show and Tell (4:29)* - slower and pretty, organ influences again, bright, thrumming bass
Disconnected (4:34) - whistlier, upbeat with dreamy chorus, gentle guitar
Sleepyhead (3:07)** - sleepier, vocals floating about synthscape with sax noodling, drums keep the momentum up
Old Love (4:17)* - funkier, bouncy, nice harmonies, some vampire weekend vibes
Find Me (4:17) - poppier, fun, radio-friendly summer jam
Haunted House (4:51) - heavier, cool guitars
