Interesting themed album on the greatest US environmental disaster of the last century, the Dust Bowl. The lyrics all center on different aspects of the time: the weather, hopes and dreams, the harsh realities of life. Surprisingly good music arranged around a theme not common in music. I liked 5, 8 and 13 best.

1. 3:09 med – upbeat song setting mood of good times
2. 3:09 slow – soulfelt song, remembering the past
3. 2:51 med – upbeat, traveling song
4. 4:10 slow/med – americana music with depression era lyrics
5. 4:17 slow – lament to the heavens with Native American spirituality and name
6. 2:36 med – bluegrass vibe, carefree song
7. 3:18 slow/med – country rock, a hard-luck love song
8. 3:30 slow/med – country song about the lack of rain that inspired this album
9. 3:36 slow/med – sad country song
10. 2:49 med – upbeat, hopeful, Oakies in CA
11. 3:36 slow/med – song about daddy dying, nice fiddle
12. 4:41 slow/med – spiritual vibe
13. 3:05 med – bluesy reprise of song #1
