I picked this album to review next for two reasons: 1) I didn’t have to unwrap it and I was feeling very lazy, and 2) Justin looked so earnest in his cover photo that I simply could not resist him. I was pleasantly surprised that the music was as good as the photo. Son of country musician Steve Earle, Justin’s music is a bluesy tinged Americana style that is both refreshing and familiar. Best for me were: 2, 4, 5, 7, 10, 11, 12.

1. med – sounds like classic rock and roll
2. med – Memphis blues vibe
3. med – country rock
4. med – blues vibe in this song with prominent clapper
5. slow/med – nice soulful song, title track
6. med – vintage rock, nice guitar
7. med – unique bluesy Americana
8. med – also bluesy Americana
9. slow – folk song with guitar accompaniment ***FCC***
10. slow – echoing blues song
11. med – Americana blues (Justin’s sound???) ***FCC***
12. slow – unique to album, blues ballad
