Clarke Robinson
49th Birthday Album

From the Bay Area & friend of KZSU, Clarke Robinson not only gave himself a splendid birthday gift but also presented us with this real treat. Experimental with flourishes of industrial ambience. Tracks blend the bleak in with optimistic tendencies. Samples are manipulated in seamlessly. This release was intended by the artist to be about contentment – it certainly makes for satisfying listening.

All great: Loving: 2,3,5,6
(All tracks have long fades)
No FCC’s
(All Instrumentals)
1) one (3.27) Lush drone, full of character, uplifting & doom laden offerings.
2) two (3.27) Rumbles along gloriously, droney horns & a heart beat thump.
3) three (2.44) Windy echoes. Chilling.
4) four (3.36) More gutsy, almost dancey. Early Cabaret Voltaire.
5) five (3.48) Rich atmospherics on display, Haunting.
6) six (2.49) Hypnotic waves.
7) seven (3.38) Slightly more harsh than the others, still has that charm.
