Album Review

Einsturzende, Test Dept, Laibach, Bauhaus/Love and Rockets, Golden Palominos, Pain Teens, Loop, are just a few of the bands this brings to my mind. Awesome dark old school industrial type fare (dare I say “goth”?). Big tribal drums, soaring atmospheric guitars, use of distortion and dissonance, noise, dramatic vocals male and/or female. Great stuff.

1)* (6:39) starts excellent dark noise, then a pounding begins which builds as it goes along, growing intense, some tribalism but mostly old school industrial noise 2)* (3:20) vocals appear, subdued almost whispered, more upbeat almost 80’s industrial dance with guitar hook but just a good beat you can dance to 3) (3:01) very Bauhaus, dark and musical, with Bauhaus/LnR vocals 4)** (8:57) super cool tribal atmospheric with female spoken word reciting single words evoking emotion 5) (5:36) more tribalism, Siouxsie comes to mind with fem vocs on this 6) (3:54) male vocs simple rockin tribal 7)** (4:41) love this one: a good solid beat with layers of balmy mildly melodic hypnotic distorted chords, instrumental 8) (6:05) another cool grooving beat, almost shoegaze here, less tribal, slowly phrased male vocals, lovely
