Slugabed - Inherit the Earth [Reviewed by J-Simma] FCCs: None
RIYL: Samiyam, Shlohmo, Nosaj Thing. This album by Slugabed marries trap and experimental electronica. Each song is unique, and has its own story/journey, playing with everything from arpeggios to saxophone, to distorted/acid sounding bass. Most, if not every song incorporate elements of trap in some way, from hi hats to drums to basslines. A refreshing and innovative project.
Favorite Tracks: 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, 10, 11

1) The Right Person to Talk To (0:17) - Noisy, distorted, sets the stage for next song
2) Stupid Earth (4:25) - Spacey, atmospheric, nice sax samples, afro-styled percussion paired w/heavy industrial samples
**3) Infinite Wave (5:38) - Nice vocal arpeggios builds into slightly distorted trap beat
*4) Levitating Above My Own Useless Body (4:23) - Bassy, brooding, experimental, lots of busy synths; builds to happier ending
**5) Gold (feat. Hairy Hands & Peter Lyon) (3:45) - Slow throbbing beat with nice overlaid vocals
**6) Very Serious Puzzle (4:54) - Atmospheric synth paired with booming bass & distortion
7) Time 2 Let It Go (4:41) - Heavy synth intro gives way to funky bassline & electro-groove
8) A Thousand Tiny Hands (2:10) - erratic keys that build and destroy melody
**9) Perfect Earth (2:55) - Organ synths and vocals paired w/trap drums
*10) Feeding Time (3:48) - Distorted bass w/ heavy sax & piano lines that give a jazzy vibe
**11) Virtuous Circle (2:38) - Light arpeggios and soft synths; most relaxing song on album
12) Earth is Gone Sorry (feat. Lum) (4:53) - Sub bass dub, synths and other elements give room to indie/alt-rock style vocals
