This was one of the best albums I've reviewed in a LONG time. Unfortunately, I somehow erased to review as I was adding it (belatedly) to zookeeper.I will fix this in the future, but just as a heads up for everyone: THIS ALBUM IS SO MUCH FUN!!! Talk about a talented musician: he played "Ode to Joy" (Beethoven) on a banjo, and it was great. Also a cover of "Summertime" (Porgy & Bess) that was a fresh breath of banjo air. But my very favorite wasn't even really a song, more a comedy routine of every banjo joke that Michael knows... Hilarious!
When is the only time a banjo player has a beautiful woman on his arm? When it's a tattoo...
What's the difference between a banjo player and a gentleman? A gentleman KNOWS how to play the banjo, but chooses not to...
What's the difference between a banjo and a Yugo? A Yugo can be tuned... follow up question for the youngsters out there, what's a Yugo?
Follow up question for the banjo players out there, what's tuning?
The full review is on the CD. Play it and enjoy the non-traditional banjo bonanza!
(PS My seventeen year-old daughter did not get ANY of these jokes...sigh)
