Album Review
Larry Koran
Reviewed 2018-12-14
A Norwegian composer, Kverndokk was chosen by the Norwegian Ministry of Culture to compose this work to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Norwegian constitution, with particular relevance to the concept of cultural diversity. The melodies are woven into a coherent, but very diverse musical narrative, alternately touching, reflective, groovy, and fun. The composition is full of longing and celebration, and reflects the reality of Norway’s culturally diverse society.
