(Original review from KZSU DJ Eva, 1994:)

Live recording of (one of?) Blackwell's last dates. His mastery permeates the album, which features excellent compositions and lots of extended soloing. An engaging and uplifting (and *cool*) album.

1- Midtempo, swinging, nice unison then harmonies of clarinet and sax. Light and airy.
2- digs into a minor blues, nice solos
3- Superb. A Blackwell percussion showcase with very African flavor, more upbeat, very nice flute
4- More dark
5- [a 28-minute suite] - First 8:54 very intense, reminds me of Coltrane and Elvin Jones. Dark, fiery, searching sax, great percussion.

Graham Haynes (cornet)
Carlos Ward (alto sax, flute)
Mark Helias (bass)
Ed Blackwell (drums)
Don Cherry (trumpet, on Lito Pt. 2 only)
