Rock-steady music is basically ska that’s been slowed down a bit. The result sounds like a blend of reggae and soul music. Imagine The Specials, but far smoother and less frantic. The vocals sound more like old American soul and R&B, but the music has a very dance-friendly melodic vibe. I thought all the songs here were terrific. They’re all around 2-3 minutes.
