(this CD should be in WORLD)
This CD represents the latest in “Indian Underground electronica”. Both of the Midival Punditz perform/DJ regularly at the Cyber Mehfil parties in New Delhi. The Punditz call themselves “Art'core d'b heads with Asian style D'nB” – and as such, the music is Indianized heavy breakbeat w/ some big synths. These two 20-somethings are kickin’ mad beats in the spirit of Talvin Singh, Cheb I Sabbah, Tabla Beat Science, and all the great Indian/fusion/electronica artists. I hope the Indian pop shows at KZSU take notice of this bad-ass CD. Please play it! Try: 3,4,5,6,8,12.

1. Asian flute melodies, swirling synthesizers, big huge breakbeats
2. Asian string melodies reverberating, big dance-pop buildups
3. Ethereal Indian female vocals, fluttering strings, big huge breakbeats
4. Indianized breakbeat techno w/ garbled electronic vocal intro, twisted electronics & tablas – this track smokes
5. Swirly female vocal w/ big crunching breakbeats – trippy
6. Twangy string melody w/ pounding percussion, guys cheering – Hey! Hey! (I love this track! It is, as the title suggests – “BANGHRA FEVER!”)
7. Huge bumpin’ breakbeats w/ some Asian effects/percussion looped
8. Ethereal Indian female vocal exotica – long intro, then beats come in
9. Big synthesizer buildups (like trance) w/ exotic Asian flute, a bit of spoken word
10. Spiritual Indian male vocal wailings, mad tablas & programmed percussion, big breakbeats
11. Indian string instruments lay out a dramatic melody, built up w/ snappy bumpin’ beats
12. Ethereal Indian female vocal w/ slow trip-hop-ish beats – trippy & abstract
