Solo bass, with some recording effects and possibly overdubs. Filiano is an L.A. guy who hangs out with Vinny Golia and other avant-jazzers. There's a nice palette of personalities among these pieces: They *don't* all sound the same, and Filiano shows he can carve convincing atmosphere from both aggressive and placid playing.

Very musical, not a lot of "extended" technique (such as squeak/scrape noises).

- Mournful bowing
- Low, slow and rumbling. Dramatic.
- Fast pizzacatto, even grooves a little
- Slow and ringing, melodic
- Disjoint, abstract.
- Active pizzacatto piece
- Deep, aggressive swirls (bowed). Dark chamber music.
- Vicious attack, then a calm/sad piece with bells
- Careful pace, mildly bouncing melodies
