Album Review
Your Imaginary Friend
Reviewed 2003-11-12
Strange sick low fi rock, cites The Residents as influences which I can see. I would add Bunnybrains, early Buttholes, Quintron, to that list. Low fi cymbal free beats, fuzzy dirgey bass, weird fem vocs. Noisy fucked up at all times. All really cool, from Canada if you can believe that, hence a lot of that wacky French language.

1) slow weird blues swing, treated “vocs”, sick, way sick
2) lo fi beat with screamed fem vocs and noisy guits
3) starts minimal sounds, kicks into a cool low fi beat with fuzzy bass, weird vocs
4) sick organ with basic rock beat, desperate vocals
5) slow weird Casio trip
6) upbeat, near electroclash, silly synth noises, drum beat
7) residents’ish with sax, but twisted weird with synth
8) low fi, upbeat, good rhythm
9) slow carnival march feel
10) dark tone, minor notes on organ
11) cover of Residents classic, upbeat and fuzzy
12) simple beat, buried FCC near end
13) super cool low end beat with vibrato guitar, minimal but thick. Ends at 3:25, followed by 15 secs of silence then minimal ambient sounds that evolve to industrial noise beat, can truncate this
