Some strange but pretty fun mixes of metal, hardcore & some other stuff. These kids are from NYC but two of them are originally from the Phillippines. The lyrics are very political (or at least the parts I can understand). There’s two songs in Tagolog which sound really rad.
Faith No More + Bad Brains x Spazz + (recent) Sepultura x No Means No = Flattbush?
(((1)))) Spazz + Faith No More? Something like that!
(((2))) Sounds like a twisted cross between Le Scrawl, Bad Brains and Spazz?!? It just somehow works despite all of the weirdness & chaos. Great drumming & bass playing to boot.
((((3)))) Sounds like a sample of a Fillipino activist about armed struggle.
(((4))) Sounds a LOT like Faith No More but the more chaotic parts of FNM not the commerical ends of them. Very reminicent of the early genre blending that metal had going on circa 1989-90.
(((5))) Some fucked-up mix of the first 24-7 Spyz album, Spazz, and something else that’s “not right” but just somehow weirdly enough to want to play again & again.
((6)) Funky slap bass intro then totally thrashy hardcore with harmonics and crazy vocals.
((((7)))) Weird, spazzy hardcore in Tagalog with all sorts of crazy sort of techincal parts. Great drumming.
(((8))) What the fuck? Is this Cryptopsy with Les Claypool singing? Weird mix of tech-metal, FNM and some other stuff that on paper wouldn’t work but somehow it does.
(((9))) Metal by way of freaked out spazzy hardcore in Tagalog & English.
((((10)))) Sample from a rebel leader in the Phillippnes. The some No Means No crossed with Spazz or a jazz-metalized Faith No More. Interesting stuff here.
((((11)))) More wild-ass guitar & drum blasts then weird funk via spazzy/tech-core.
((12)) Lots of crazy stop-starts but overall no too great.
((13)) Sample en Tagalog about young girls forced into prostitution. & some bass noodling ‘ala Les Claypool.
