Album Review

Wow! This is the best improv album I’ve heard in a long time. Arnal, Beeferman and Misterka have a novel modern abstract group sound, but it’s still based on a solid free jazz tradition. They move from playful to serious throughout the disc and while everything is pretty clattery, the result is always interesting.

1. Builds from sparse start to interesting group work
*2. insistent drumbeat drives group plinking
**3. Angry and jagged
*4. slow, cascading in a beautifully weird way
*5. Lots of squealing with great backing
**6. interesting movement, great group work
7. Quiet understated motion
*8. Slow, exotic and mysterious
*9. Agitated improv
*10. Deceivingly pretty
11. Short and plinky
