This Omaha band makes mostly slow, weary, sad songs, all very pleasant, but nothing totally earth-shaking. A lot of the depressing ballads blur together, so the ones that offer something a little different (3,7,9, and 6(but unfotunatley FCC)) stand out. The singer has a nice, but at times monotonous, drawl. The accompaniment has the occasional folksy tinge. These slow, aching, dreamy songs won’t change your life, but they’re still nice enough to deserve to be tried out at least once or twice.
1- A slow weepy tune, with simple acoustic accompaniment, sorta lo-fi
2- background “aaahhs,” slick sounding, vocals at times remind me of the strokes’ monotone
*3- bouncy sad song with a catchy melody
4- another slow and weary song
5- more of the same, slow, depressing, voice is a little more expressive and music swells dramatically
6- FCC(fucking) which is a shame cuz this one offers something a little different actually
*7- oo, an upbeat one, this chorus feels almost like colplay, simple and poppy, but good
8- right back to the dreary ballad, ends abruptly
*9- a little crisper, guitar a little reminiscent of neil young, murderous lyrics are always cool
10- sad arching guitar, sad weepy lyrics, ends with aching guitar solo
11- FCC(fuck)
