Anti-folk, country, with cajun influences. Not zydeco... more drunken, by the campfire, tawdry revivalism. Two singers that harmonize often in tune and out of tune (intentionally). Lyrics are dark, humorous, and sometimes ridiculous. From Lawrence, Kansas. FCC clean. Picks 3,6,4,2,9,14,12

1-(2:39) Mid/fast. Piano,a muffled kick, and a wheezy organ repetitively pound away. Shouting harmonies. About a dog?
*2-(2:51) Slow. Like an old folk nursery farm. But with drunk and slightly crazy singers and dark lyrics. Switches to 3/4.
*3-(2:55) Mid. 3/4. Preacher introduction. Wild hollering/singing. Toy piano, wood block percussion, harmophone, guitar. Me likes. Music for the fall and winter months.
*4-(3:59) Persistent 3/4. Partly in french. Vaguely old world beat. Nice vox tone.
5-(2:41) Brisk 3/4. Fun falsetto part for the girl in the story.
*6-(2:32) Slow soft guitar picking. Out of tune harmonies. Then the harmophonist, and scuttly perc. comes in. Turns out it is a song about drugs or at least induced by them. There is bird whistling, and subversive harmonies.
7-(4:06) Slow. Late 1800's parlor piano on an old barroom piano. Well performed harmonies. Song stretches too long imho.
8-(2:49) Mid/fast. Different mood here. More rock/pop based. Other songs are stronger.
*9-(2:56) Becomes fast. Prominent strummed guitar, shaker, and kick drum. Stoner/country style processed vox. "You'll need a spear for when the bear comes, or a spear for when the bear comes. Either way, you'll need one."
10-(3:25) Handclaps, mandolin. About a mother who sleepwalks.
11-(3:09) Out of tune, lamenting to their usual 3/4 stomp.
*12-(3:51) Tight harmonies. This one is fun, and easy to appreciate with the big harmonies/release points. The vocal style is more modern alt. country at times.
13-(2:42) A recording of Stewie from Family Guy faded to sound like it is from 1913? Fast Pounding 3/4. Lots of falsetto.
*14-(4:32) Very slow piano. Heart on sleeve.
Nice sweet song.
