Nice 3 band compilation with Red Sparowes, Made out of Babies and Battle of Mice. 3 different bands expanding a definition of “heavy rock” but really reaching back to indie rock from the 90’s when it focused on “ROCK” and not whiny, mopers with overpriced guitars and elaborate press kits.

(((((1)))))) Gorgeous, expansive, guitar-based instrumentals ‘ala Pelican, Dif Juz, Agalloch.
((((2))))) Slow, dreamy pastoral rock, occasionally loud with “hear it a few times to get used to” female vox.
(((3))) Solid instrumentation but the vocals are high on the annoying scale like Bjork fronting a piss-poor version of Codeine.
((((4)))) Big, burly hard rock ‘ala Shellac mix with odd metered female vox. Takes a few spins to get but it’s worth it.
((((5)))) (FCC “fucking” sung once) Screamy vox totally right from the gut mixed with a hard-edged winding riff cycle.
(((((6))))) Etheral, ever-changing, wide open sounds. The pure majesty of simple chord changes and strumming on guitars. Very soundtrack-like.
