100 SUNS – “Deception, Calculate What You Can’t See” CD (diy)
Local metalcore with a huge distorted heavy guitar sound. They have three guitar players and all are turned to 11. Multiple vocalists who scream in that almost understandable metalcore way. There is a lot more metal than hardcore in their sound and it reminds me of old German metalcore like HEAVEN SHALL BURN and MORSER and local band BURIAL YEAR.
**2. Huge fast guitar riffs and samples to begin which changes into a mid paced pummeling. They play with slight variations on the main riff throughout the entire song.
**3. Mid-paced call-n-response guitar riffs and vocals. Lots of fast double bass drums while multiple vocalists scream over the top of them and each other.
**4. Slight death metal sound.
**5. HUGE wall of guitars which slow down while the singer screams. Ends with fading distortion and quiet at the end.
6. Slow beginning which turns into some fast metal with intense screaming. There are a number of different parts to the song, including a chaotic section, fast section in the middle with lots of screaming, and a slow ending.
7. Slightly cliché riff which they speed up and slow down. The track has an extended slow section in the middle after which they speed it up and pummel you.
8. Quiet vocal sample at the beginning. Pretty much speeds up and slows down the same riff the entire song. The track does speed up after the halfway point for a little bit before returning to the main riff.
9. Faster with more slight death metal sounds. After some pummeling with pinch harmonics the tracks quiets down then returns full speed.
Very good stuff. -mph
