Quebecois, slow, lamenting French-style jazz. There are some strange non-jazz moments too. The vocalist Pierre Cartier is interesting: he IS singing, but he is just another instrument who also happens to have words. The music is contemporary jazz (loose drumming and occasional outbursts from trombone and sax) that doesn't go out too much. Too many solos for too long. FCC clean. Picks 4,6,1.

1-(11:20) Slow. Nice melody. The singing parts are best. Solos are long and plodding. Song is 7 minutes too long in the middle.
2-(7:31) Violin and sax solo. Eh.
3-(8:40) Tired sounding. Straight-foward changes, and lounge jazz tricks. Avoid.
*4-(10:49) Interesting track. Folk fiddling. Flutes. Psychish guitar in mid-section. Then jazz waltz with Quebecois folk elements. Not easily classified.
5-(7:30) Slooow, sad ballad. Brushes.
*6-(5:11) More on the experimental side. Vox. Flutes, violin, guitar have faint repeating lines. brushed cymbal accents. -1:40 just exotic flute lines and bass to end.
7-(12:42) Cyclical, descending fuguish instr. melody. Pleasant. -12:20 starts to swing. gathers momentum, but never leaving theme. Vox starts up at -7:10. Viola, trombone, Sax solos. rock guitar solo at the end?
