Acoustic, folky, pretty. Female vocals and solid, sad harmonies, from two sisters from Portland. Mostly slow stuff. Some political content with good cynical attitude and sense of humor (7,10). Think of lazy hot summer days and long sunsets on the plains.

- Swaying midtempo
- Stern minor key, midtempo, cool percussion sound.
- Music box charm
- A propulsively attractive slow creep, with violin
- Midtempo, a touch of rock. Organ. Story that warily traces a kid's ascent to being a cop. "They took him from his mother to be the right hand of Big Brother."
- Slow, wistful.
**(7)**- Surprisingly happy til you find out they're "goin' down" to the horribly polluted countryside while talking about all the nastiness in this country. Hoedown feel, mid/fast.
- More music box charm
- Gentle, pretty acoustic song. Slowish.
- Waltzy mid/fast folk, likening the Bush administration to a stalker. Cute.
- Slow, some lush chords
- Mid/fast folky, with a bit of sax.
- Slow and still. Mysterious air.
- Happy cowboy song about Mexico. Midtempo.
