Despite the humorous liner notes, this is some pretty serious music. A wandering through the Middle East on traditional instruments (strings & percussion). One of the “Kings” was a founding member of 3 Mustaphas 3. Great musicianship that conjures up images of belly dancers, souks, and snake charmers. All instrumentals.

*1. Relaxed Indian-influenced drone w/a a snaky kind of hipness.
2. Downtempo and lushly atmospheric. Slightly dark & romantic.
*3. Midtempo belly dance wiggle w/shades of Egypt.
*4. Slow, spare strings for a minute, then mid/up & slinky.
5. Relaxed and spiraling w/a touch of Arabian nights.
6. A rich, soundtrack-y feel with sweeping melodies. Mostly mid/down
*7. Tight, mid/upbeat percussion jam that’s just so cool.
8. Midtempo w/a traditional folk dance sort of sound.
9. Afro-Arabic blend that hints of the desert. Midtempo & warm.
