Dark folk music. Debut from a 10-piece British collective with lots of strings (guitar, banjo, harp, violin, cello...). A touch of Ren Faire prettiness coupled with warbly DIY vocals that have a nearly despairing sound. The music is well executed and even bright, bringing up visions of deep forest creeks and the like. The vocals -- I had a hard time with them, but it's not too far removed from the singing on, say, an Akron/Family record. No FCCs detected.

- Soft, fleet picking. Floating group vocal; nice march feel later.
- Mid/fast flowing, still a sad mood
- Nice harp(?) riffing, fairly fast and gentle/smooth. Soft horns! Later, stern guitars and strings for a tough, soaring air.
- Gentle and nice, with stacked vocals that don't quite harmonize
- Sad intro, then a neat, fast guitar patter that's soundbed for some dissonant instrumental
- Downcast, midtempo. Sad violin & cello. After the ending, there's about 10 seconds of talking
- Slow Ren-Faire picking
- Starts off pretty, develops an edge and a nice beat.
- Fairly quiet, quilted. Fast picking; chanting group vocal.
- "Hidden" track, starts silent. Strings, then a gentle song.
