A modern string quartet with plenty of flair and action. It's not your usual "classical," it's got more bite than that. Try it as an instrumental break to add eclecticism. The theme here is apparently Pacific Rim composers (mostly).

- A Phillip-Glass-like pulsing, mid/fast, into some passionate waves of melody later
- Slowish big drama, stern, plus a big of singing.
- A bouncing cascade of notes; prominent cello. Brisk pace. Later gets into longer, atmospheric tones, but still dynamic
- Folky melodic moments; catchy
- Dynamic, dissonant swoops
- A quiet Chinese sensibility; gets more dynamic than you'd expect, esp. in the 2nd half
- Big and rolling, like a more abstract Aaron Copeland. Just 1:22 long.
- Sullen, dramatic. A lot like a "normal" classical quartet, and quite dark.
- Light and wispy; improvised.
