Album Review
Your Imaginary Friend
Reviewed 2009-02-28
Yup: “off kilter lo-fi pop”, casio type percussion, echoey and buried vocals, reverb extravaganzas. Definite tones of Eno, for sure. Other moments of pure psyche bliss. Think: old New Order, Eno, Flying Saucer Attack, Orange Cake Mix, Jesus and Mary Chain, Galaxie 500.

1) starts with a lovely drone then a pleasant beat, psyche lovefest, slow and mindful, music to get stoned to
2) low fi casio beat electro, upbeat and almost cute melody
3) strange pulsing beat with “pretty” guitar, a total space/psyche ballad
4) upbeat strumming but no drums, smothered by a sustained fuzzy melody
5) tearing a page from Eno, pleasant upbeat vocal harmony heavy
6) Galaxie 500 prettiness, tom tom beat with lots of jangly guitar and melodies
7) casio beat buried by bass and very trippy echoey vocals and sounds
8) upbeat casio beat, poppy with strained vocals, low fi
9) very echoey, slow atomospheric without drums, trippiness
