The Love Language is North Carolina native Stuart McLamb, who wrote and recorded his first album at home on the heels of a bad breakup. This album is very lo-fi but the melodies are anything but amateur. McLamb's natural talent as a songwriter really shines throughout this album, and the ramshackle recordings bring an immediacy to the songs that make it easy for the listener to connect. This is brilliant pop music sprinkled with folk and country influences throughout. A terrific debut. All songs are recommended, but tracks 2,4,5, and 7 are highlights. No FCCs detected.

6 3:06 The main players are a piano and the lead vocalist, just another showcase of McLamb's voice and songwriting ability. The lyrics may come off as a little trite, but you'll forget all that once you find yourself singing along.
7 *3:17 Almost a country western song, and I say "almost" because I don't really know what that constitutes so I'm just guessing.
8 2:33 A short, more upbeat song with a drum beat you'll find hard not to bob along to.
9 4:13 A fitting end to the album, as McLamb exclaims "You were the first and you'll be the last." The entire band is in use, and the song moves through highs and lows similar to tracks 1, 4, and 7.
