Monsters of Folk/ Monsters of Folk

Melancholy Indie Folk with an alternative-country vibe. Conor Oberst (of Bright Eyes), Mike Mogis (Bright Eyes & Lullaby For The Working Class), Jim James (of My Morning Jacket) and M. Ward (of She & Him) Nice guitar, keyboards, and supporting synth/wurly/steel sound effects. Think Bright Eyes meets country folk. Similar to Bon Iver, Wilco, Fleet Foxes. Great sound! FCC CLEAN! Try 1, 2 , 4, 6, 9, 13,14, 15

1. **nice and slow 2. ***more upbeat, prominent guitar, catchy beat 3. fun country vibe, almost surf-rock bass, guitar 4. ****nice, dreamy, wurly, slow drums, acoustic guitars, low bass very bright-eyes lyrics and vocals (of course!) 5. upbeat, slow-swing feel guitar, mandolin, steel guitar country-sound 6. **light hand claps acoustic guitar, upbeat, sounds just like bright eyes 7. picky-acoustic guitar worldly sound, with country edge and eerie backing in middle 8. strange feedback at very beginning, oldies, country acoustic reading over guitar at the end—excerpt taken from anonymous letter read immediately before being burned 9. ***slower acoustic sound over nice bass, prominent lyrics 10.* slow, muted, dreamy vocals over soft acoustic guitar steel accents, bongos 11. **upbeat, more electronic, catchy 12. ** slower, acoustics over vocals, picks up nicely at end 13. ****very quiet intro guitar, picks up. very melancholy acoustic quiets down a lot around 3:20 into instrumentals 14.****really pretty song, soft acoustic guitar and vocals, dreamy 15. **** Sounds like Fleet Foxes to me, beautiful vocals over acoustic guitar picking, longish but really nice track
