Classic roosty bluesy rockabilly surf garage punk from early 80’s LA. For fans of TSOL, Agent Orange, Blasters, Social Distortion, X, even Dead Kennedys. Earlier songs (trks 1-9) are produced by Billy Zoom (primo X guitarist) and are by far strongest. Going back to the days when this band would be on the same bill as TSOL or Dead Kennedys along with the Blasters and Dwight Yoakam (the early punk scene was pretty damn open minded). Ron Emory from TSOL played in at least one version of this band, hence the connections. The earlier material kicks ass (tracks 1-10) while the rest falls into the realm of bar-band blah somehow.

1) train chugga beat theme, rockabilly flare of classic cover
2) 12 bar rock with a great hook “your dads a cop and you just may be too”
3) swingy bar-room 12 bar bluesy rock
4) upbeat rockin surfy with a funny theme about “used to have a Mohawk” commentary on punks turning to rockabilly back in the day (“I listen to the Stray Cats instead of the Circle Jerks” – imagine the day when the Stray Cats were as underground as the Circle Jerks!)
5) upbeat rockin with an X feel fer sure
6) unrepentant surf punk
7) swingy smarmy rock
8) big rockin
9) 60’s upbeat garage rock, Okmonics, Estrus
10) LA punk feel, somewhere inbetween hardcore and rockabilly, left outside Someone Got Their Head kicked and the X gig
11-22) I hate to slash and burn but these tracks smack of bar band “rock and roll boogie woogie”. Nothing wrong with that, but if that’s your thing choose any, prepare to hear harmonica, and miss the cowbell that might fill the void. Otherwise, stick to tracks 1-10, which ROCK!
