Genre: Psychedelic Garage Rock
Sounds Like: Juan Trip, The Black Lips, 13 Floor Elevators General: These boys do a new “rock-n-roll” sound that integrates the bluesy sway and thump of southern soul with the grainy vocals and choppy rhythms of garage punk. Most tracks resemble a consistent sound that bounces between the push of instrumental built and pull of energetic vocals. Melodies are fun but not superficially light—socially conscious lyrics and fictional allegories give King Khan and the Shrines a seductive spirit of black humor and spontaneous lust. Start with tracks 1,2,3,4,5

Tracking Descriptions (No FCCs detected):
1. (3:13) Starts loud, with blatant electric guitar, distorted rift towards end, psychedelic feel
2. (2:35) Super catchy guitar arpeggios overlapped by soaring chorus vocals
3.(4:08) Softer track, vocals remind me of Grizzly Bear or My Morning Jacket, pursues a nice flow with a catchy chorus
4. (3:34) Fun guitar licks, shows off personality both instrumentally and vocally
5. (4:10) Has a beach rock vibe, sounds soo much like 13 Floor Elevators
6. (4:08) Another softer track that begins with stripped down guitar that leads into structured 70’s rock style
7. (2:31) Quick start, reminds me more of a garage punk than psychedelic
8. (5:32) Begins with steady snare drum, declining into cool random sounds that blend into structured rifts
9. (2:43) Starts loud, sung in French, has an antic vibe
10 (2:53) Slow but loud start leading into a fast-paced psychedelic sound with weathered vocals
11. (3:08) Loud electric guitar fluctuates between echoes and straight jamming, cadence of song climaxes towards end
12. (2:35) Catchy fast paced anxious rock
13. (4:32) Psychedelic rock vibe that is more upbeat and distorted
14. (4:19) Starts with a medium pitched ambient instrumental sound, vocals are super distorted, like singing underwater, slower/softer track with indie-rock hooks
