You can’t go wrong with a Putumayo compilation, and you can’t go wrong with the music of South Africa. Combine the two and you’ve got a delicious blend of jazz, gospel, soul, and just plain old kick-ass great music. Every track gets a star. Play it all.

1. Midtempo soul jazz w/hip organ & vocals.
2. Sweet, warm vocals in a relaxed Afro soul/funk sway. Cool.
3. Light mbira and rich chorus back husky fem vocals. Midtempo.
4. Blend of hip hop and Afro pop in English & Xhosa. Relaxed.
5. Relaxed reggae guitar and light male vox. Folksy head-nodder.
6. Bright & joyful African jazz w/sax & guitar. Midtempo.
7. Sexy retro (from the 50s) girl group jazz. Midtempo & sassy.
8. Sweet female vocals, relaxed guitar, sort of soukous light.
9. Warm male vocals in Afrikaans. Midtempo guitar plus chorus.
10. Bilingual reggae (English & Xhosa) mid/upbeat.
11. Upbeat contemporary SA pop w/cool vocals.
12. Classic SA gospel sound. A capella, slow, stunning!
