1970’s Jazz Fusion & Funk sometimes completely “on” and othertimes musical wallpaper for every boring filler scene in every light filtered “Afternoon Movie” on Channel 7. Uneven overall but very crackin on a number of tunes. At best it’s like “electric”-era Miles Davis or Herbie Hancock’s Headhunters at worst it’s “jazz after dark” silliness.

(((((1))))) Loose, funky fusion-funk with fantastic playing
((2)) Mellow, airy flute-laden boredom (though it starts well) that reeks of the double-snap & point “laaadies!”
(((3))) Uptempo jazzy, fusion with all sorts of stops/starts but then goes way downtempo and mildly funky/moody.
(((4))) Strings, chimes, some slightly cinematic moves.
((((5)))) Lively sound with plenty of horn and electric piano swashes plus good drumming.
(((6))) Swingin’ afternoon drive feeling, pretty good horn & bass playing, not so sure about the piano though.
(((7))) Synth warble, funky bass and big horns. Gets more wailin’ around the 2:25 mark and a slice of prog for about 40 seconds.
((((8)))) Soulful, funky with backing chorus and “weee-wooo” keyboard swells.
(9) Oof! Light as a feather, LeBrie waterbed commercial ads.. “I wanna talk to the single ladies… here on Night Comfort – Movies All Night”

((((((10)))))) Ah, that’s MUCH better! Totally 70’s street ready funk! So proper 70’s you can hear Fred Sanford yellin’ “You Big Dummy!” from 20 miles away.
(((11))) Flutey, fusion/bop with some Middle Eastern scales & classical strings. A lot going on here.
((12)) More airy flute & light percussion and loungey vocals. Chee-ZEE!
(((13))) Wild piano scales, guiro (know by some as that winding/creaking sound in the Stones “Gimme Shelter”) marimba, bird chirps (!), more flutes. Singing in Spanish.
