I have no idea what the singer is saying. But he has a resonant deep voice, and the music effectively mixes the chaotic, muffled, and melodic. Often succeeds at feeling mellow and uptempo at the same time. It’s like the emotional last stand of a tired man. Montreal music. Highlights: 1, 2, 3. FCC Track 5

1. **Future Songs: chaotic, lo-fi guitar and drum riffs. Slight influence of afro-beat music, with some nice harmonizing vocals to compliment the lead’s deep voice (5:02)
2. **Get It (I Know You’re Going To): begins with an clap-and-drum rhythm. An upbeat, sentimental echo. “You look like the future to these tired eyes.” Shades of TV on the Radio. (5:15)
3. **Salt on the Fields: Hits on the backbeat. Nice guitar riff. Shifts beat toward the end. (4:18)
4. Phantom Limb: builds slowly over the song. Feelings of isolation. (5:39)
5. Gold Bound: Acoustic, with the lead singer trading harmonies with a second vocal track of himself. (3:08) FCC: mother fucker
6. Song for Arthur: Ascending melody, matches lyrics “Out from the window and up into the sky.” (5:24)
7. The 2-Step: Interesting rhythm. (5:53)
8. Ukuuu: begins with distant guitar strums. slower and more spacey than the rest of the album. the occasional bird chirps. (6:20)
