"We Are Rising" is a study in contrast: bright glockenspiels, oboes, and strings provide counterpoint to haunting atmospheres; slow, drawn-out melodies are layered on top of chaotic, shifting backing instrumentations; the vocal arrangements alternate between sonorous choruses and fragile laments. If you have been looking for Beruit's sad and despairing twin, "We Are Rising" is it. This album is easily comparable to Sufjan Steven's "Age of Adz", albeit with a darker atmosphere.
