"We Are Rising" is a study in contrast: bright glockenspiels, oboes, and strings provide counterpoint to haunting atmospheres; slow, drawn-out melodies are layered on top of chaotic, shifting backing instrumentations; the vocal arrangements alternate between sonorous choruses and fragile laments. If you have been looking for Beruit's sad and despairing twin, "We Are Rising" is it. This album is easily comparable to Sufjan Steven's "Age of Adz", albeit with a darker atmosphere. Check out tracks: 4, 5, 8, 9. All tracks FCC clean.

01. (04:55) Flickers: Slow track with haunting melodies and vocals.
02. (03:52) All the Right Things: Horn section and lush, if strange, background vocals mark this track. Quiet ending after a big hit in the last 10 seconds.
03. (04:30) Rising: Track opens a capella, and then continues to alternate between a loud chorus and quiet vocals and melodies.
04. (04:49) ** Leave the Riches: Spare instrumentation heavily features dark vocals and percussion. Dark and moody.
05. (02:55) ** Flowers: Glockenspiels and flittering woodwinds brighten up this quick track. Not much vocal focus, especially at the end. Quiet lull at around 1:20 for 20 seconds.
06. (03:01) Chase: Urgent opening gives way to meandering vocals and melodies.
07 (04:06) Claws: Features jagged-sounding synths and electronic noise.
08. (03:21) ** Let Go: Heavy drumming melds well with a string section behind a repetitive chorus, with hypnotic results. Vocal chorus finishes the track off strong.
09. (03:55) ** Rebuild: Electronic melodies and a backup horn section open and close this track. Last 10 seconds are silence.
