Karnak Temples / Din of Light / Debacle Records / 2011
Not much info to be found about these guys.
Dreamy opiated music, long and dreary, like the background music to some poetic thriller film. Self classified as “Rock”, though it’s like Elvis took some opium, partnered up with some electric minimalist sound, and decided against singing, releasing this slow, drugged rock. Imagine an underwater rainforest.
Minimalist background sounds interrupted by electric guitar, for an overall meditative effect that seems to actually lead somewhere.
Instrumental. FCC clean. #2 is favorite.
1: “Soft Borders” (7:21) - A wowowow drone with electric guitar sounds. Fit for a minimalist temple.
2: “Foul Nest” (14:29) - Very meditative, with strong electric guitar interruptions and some overdrive, a dreamy Western-film feel
3*: “The Din of Light” (15:34) - Soft for first 2 min. and opens slowly into a nice slightly faster tune with the same meditative drone, continuous build up throughout with faint vocal chants. Very prayer-like.
