From Eureka Springs, Arkansas, Brick Fields is a bluesy, gospel-tinged group fronted by Rachel Brick’s powerhouse pipes. Instrumentation of guitar, bass, drums, sax, keys and flute. Nice performances throughout. No FCC’s.

*My Favorites*: 2, 5, 6, 8, 9.

1. (4;03) Mid. Mellow, plodding backbeat with sax, guitar, drums out front and a smooth vocal delivery.
2. *(7:09) Slow. Cool flute and sax lead this bluesy dirge. Very soulful vocals.
3. (5:29) Mid. A cappella intro. Mellow blues with flute, organ, sax and driving drums.
4. (4:41) Slow. Sparse love song. Slow beat with focus on the vocals.
5. *(4:09) Mid. Funky blues. Organ, sax, bass, guitar, drums. Female backing vocals (maybe Rachel’s own?).
6. *(4:04) Slow. Ominous, jazzy dirge. Nice horns and guitar.
7. (5:20) Mid. Relaxed but upbeat easy blues. Strong beat, cool sax and a powerful vocal delivery.
8. *(5:56) Slow. Sparse dirge. Organ, drum strikes, sax. Really nice.
9. *(3:27) Mid. Steady rollin’ beat. Barroom blues with killer guitar.
10. (3:58) Slow. The classic ‘Amazing Grace’. Nice.
