Just three songs, but so, so good! |
1. Leyla McCalla’s sweet and sassy voice joins some lightly nodding strings on a lazy little sway. More folk than blues, but warm and easy ode to living in the south. Like magnolia blossoms on a hot & humid day.
2. Paul Clayton jumps into an upbeat tune with a totally fun and unpretentious song. Fun and folksy. Great instrumental break with ....hurdy gurdy? Dulcimer? Zither? Whatever it is, it’s so cool!
3. Alternative version of #2. Voice is muted and instruments take the lead. Not a true instrumental, but might as well be. Sort of a cacophony of strings & percussion. In a way, kind of dark & creepy but interesting at the same time.
