Second album from psychedelic cumbia digital band out of Seattle. They combine the hypnotic groove of Latin American cumbia with the freedom of expression and the youth music culture found in the Northwest US. They throw in a psychedelic feel and question identity at the same time by wearing white goat-head masks during their performances. (The band started doing cumbia after Trump was elected, because Latin Americans and immigrants had been so horribly misrepresented.)
This is 8 tracks of cumbia like you’ve never heard before. My favorite is #8, but they are all worthy of play. Range from brooding (1, 5) to bouncy (6). Half surf/half psych on 4.
PLAY IT ALL!
