Ambient dub from Chicago. Nocturnal, entrancing, thick with atmosphere, and gracefully intricate—this music conjures images of going swimming at 2 a.m. Purelink are the trio of Akeem Asani (Millia), Ben Paulson (kindtree), and Tommy Paslaski (aka Concave Reflection). RIYL Gas, Topdown Dialectic, King Tubby, Andy Stott, Pan•American, ambient Aphex Twin, Huerco S. Favorites: 2, 3, 5 (but all tracks are great). No words, no FCCs.

1. (5:17)—Medium-slow with a heavy but minimal beat. Lots of sparingly used textures (like the sound of a bell or a glass?).
2. *(7:14)—Mid-tempo with a gradual build and a subtle, coasting rhythm.
3. *(5:40)—Mid-tempo. Muffled beat that coalesces after over two minutes. Airy, misty, droning.
4. (7:25)—Medium-slow. Watery textures, a simple pulsing beat that develops a boom-bap feel near the end.
5. *(7:12)—Trippy beatless drone. Dense, blissful.
6. (6:38)—Mid-tempo, soft but propulsive, with cut-up vocal samples.
