I'm guessing that these guys are a college-age bar band. I'm not saying this to belittle them; they are good enough to put out this rocking' little 45. There's a rawness to their sound; I'd be curious to hear what their other original/cover tunes are. They show promise, as it is said. A-side: "Talking Too Loud" - mid-tempo reggae-fied Clash-like roots rock that has hints of emo-core (I think), harmony vocals and anthem-ish chorus. Raw, young-sounding and whilst not truly great, it is inspired, and shows potential. b-side: "This Bird Sings" - Kinks-type acoustic guitar ballad with a female vocalist (Yoli) singing "descant" or counter-vocal duet. Better than a-side, sez I. Of course, I'll give it a "pick-to-click"!! | ||
