girly new wave/60's retro/indie pop.
jangly, sugary, 80's interpretation of 60's brill,
psych pop, beachy...I love it.
songs are longer than last album, 'broken bow'
(one of my faves from last year, despite SOME FOLKS analistic technicality BITCHING over actual release in late 2010.)
bro&sis duo sing, joined by ex-aislers set drummer. most tracks got fem vox, few got mal vox.
from frisco? portland? =I don't know.
p.s. band name pronounced: OOZ-OH-TRA.
FCC CLEAN.
RIYL: best coast, veronica falls, young evils, aislers set, times new viking, neverever, bangles, pandoras, dum dum girls, plimsouls, hospitality, josie cotton, et al.
MR. ESQ. SEZ: MEOW MEOW MEOW MEOW MEOW!
PLAY THESE TRACKS: ANY/PUT ON RANDOM/THAT GOOD!
*1. 80's new wave bitchin'!
*2. BEST TRACK: britty gits. kinda plimsouls. mal vox, fem vox takes the chorus. it's upbeat meloncholy(?) (bitchin'!)
3. m.o.r. sweet. cheesy, but still good. short.
*4. BEST TRACK II: best coasty bitchin'!
*5. slow, haunty. vintage 60's psych pop.
*6. mal vox. upbeat, happy go lucky, fem vox joins for chorus.
