Minimalist folk duo Brad and Jessica Lauretti strum acoustics and occasionally pull out the pedal steel in their sophomore album The Future, but it still retains that intimate, cute-but-sometimes-creepy sound. Slow and relaxing quirky tunes. No FCCs.

Highlights: 1, 3, 6, 8.
.(4:03): Eerie vocals, muted bass and deep kicks. Dirty electric guitar solo. Awesomely creepy.
.(3:41): Acoustic strumming and oohing. Pleasant vibe.
.(5:41): A barefoot barn jam. Bluesy lyrics, tambourine shakin’ and a pedal steel!
.(3:34): A campfire romantic tune. Just guitar and vocals.
.(4:54): The pedal steel is back. With snapping and quirky lyrics. Dreamy Caribbean feel.
.(3:58): Gorgeous recorder and violin. Dark, anguished and yet, resolved.
.(4:26): Slow ballad. Strings build tension, but the acoustic noodling carries the song.
.(4:26): Distant ghostly vocals and a spooky guitar melody. Pedal steel solo.
.(6:32): Downtempo story overtop a melancholy guitar figure.
.(1:58): Cute folk song. With tambourine, harmonica and whistling! Like a live coffeehouse performance.
